Regarding this particular look

I've gotten mixed reviews on this one; everything from "It's perfect!" to "It scares me and looks evil."

It's neither. If it scares you, I'm really really sorry, but it's the only one that's making me like my blog. Otherwise, it doesn't feel right to me, and I don't like looking at it. If it's too busy for you, I'm sorry again. Uh... cover the rest of the background with your hands when you're reading the posts, or squint, or something.

Bottom line: it's warm, deep, pensive, complex, and yet background material. Like it or hate it, it stays for a while. You know I'll get tired of it. Hold out.
